International Law

As globalization continues to grow, the impact of international law on business and individuals continues to grow also. There are rights, remedies, and obligations under international law that can affect any cross-border transaction or interaction between individuals, businesses and organizations. From the impact of the Hague Adoption Convention on immigration petitions, to transactions involving the Covenant on the International Sale of Goods, the way in which international law impacts each situation is different, but it is still important to consult with an attorney about what impact can be expected, and the best ways to deal with it.

It is important to note that due to local and foreign regulations, transactions involving foreign countries may require the retention of local counsel in the foreign State in question, or of specialized local counsel if particular issues are likely to arise. It may still be advisable to receive a prior assessment of the issues that may arise so that you may be better prepared as you allocate your resources.

The links to the left will provide you with more information about specific areas of international law. We invite you to navigate them, and to contact us for a free initial consultation about your case.
